My passion for forest photography

I was born in 1985 and grew up close to many forests in the Netherlands. In 2014 I bought my first DSLR camera purely out of interest for photography, but I didn’t have any goal with it at all. Until at the end of autumn 2016, I got up early on a foggy morning to take pictures in the forest. I was immediately sold, got the well-known photographers virus, and all of a sudden I went out early almost every weekend. Not only for the photos, but also for the magical feeling of being alone in the forest and waiting for the sunlight and other weather conditions to change the mood. My passion for (forest) photography was born. I started to develop my own style, also in post-processing, something that I spend a lot of time on. For me, the photos really come to life with the necessary post-processing to further enhance the atmosphere and mood of the moment.

One of the subjects I photograph a lot is the Witch Tree (de Heksenboom) in Bladel. You can find different images with the Witch Tree in my gallery Solo trees

In 2017 I won the Dutch TV Show “Het perfecte plaatje” with my photo “The golden delight”. In 2018 I won “Brabant in Beeld” with a collection of 5 sunray shots from the Liesbos, first prize: a mirrorless Canon camera.
